Laurie Anderson is primarily seen as a performance artist, utilizing sound, light, and the sung and spoken word for her often high-tech and budget-intensive pieces. Her use of photographic imagery usually takes the form of projections during the performance and, sometimes, multiples to be shown and sold in galleries.
