The cover image for Virginia Swift’s mystery, Bad Company, is a large detail from Ralph Gibson’s purported in the desert close-up of fellow photographer Larry Clark‘s hand firing a pistol in the desert of the American southwest. The photo is flipped horizontally so the gun points to the right. In it’s original publication, Deja Vu, published by Lustrum Press in 1972, the image -pointing left – is the left hand page of a page spread, with the right hand page illustrated by the photo on the cover of The Devil’s Redhead by David Corbett.
