This pamphlet, likely printed for use by study groups, contains the first two chapters from Friedrich Engels’ The Origin of the Family, Private property and the State, first published in Zurich, Switzerland in 1884. As is common with pamphlets meant for small, select audiences, Leen’s photo – part of the legendary 1955 Family of Man exhibit – may or may not have been used with permission.
